White gold is the most popular choice of metal for an engagement ring.

A white gold engagement ring has a very similar appearance to a platinum engagement ring but has a much lower price tag. White gold is created by taking gold and alloying it with white metals such as silver and palladium. In order achieve the desirable gunmetal colour white gold is rhodium plated if left untreated white gold has a slightly yellow tinge.
