Palladium is often referred to as a sister metal of platinum as it part of the platinum group of metals, and all palladium engagement rings are sold with a 95% precious metal purity the same grade as platinum. Palladium has grown in popularity since its legal hallmark was issued in July 2009 and wedding rings and engagement rings alike are now easily available. Palladium is slightly lighter than platinum and weighs approximately the same as 18ct Gold.
